1. Install

Install the Windows or macOS build from the official Trae download page — International (trae.ai) or China (trae.cn).

Custom models require a version that exposes Custom Config. Upgrade to the latest version if Add Model has no Custom Config entry.

2. Configure

1. Open Trae settings and go to Models.
2. Click Add Model, then select Custom Config.
3. Select OpenAI Chat Completions, turn on Full URL, enter https://api.get-apikey.com/v1/chat/completions as the Custom Request URL, then enter your API Key and YOUR_MODEL as both the Model ID and Display Name.
4. Add the model and select it in the chat panel.

3. Restart

Fully quit and reopen Trae, then start a new conversation.

4. Confirm a reply

Send Reply only with OK. The setup is complete when Trae replies OK.
